Pasadena sits just northeast of downtown LA, and is an interesting city. Big, but not too big, busy, but not too busy, it is the home of the famous Rose Bowl, stunning architecture and - just outside the city - breathtaking hikes.
Esther Lee is a travel and lifestyle/fashion photographer who lives in Pasadena. With the Locals and Brooklyn Bicycle Co. gave her our Willow 7 to take around to her favorite places in the city.
Check out Esther's suggestions below (and a few of our own!):
"The perfect break for a perfect ride."
"Don’t mind me. I’m right where I need to be."
"One of my favorite places to eat."
"Gorgeous library. When the sun sets, the color of the building looks super golden. I’m all about that shadow and light."
"My secret Pasadena gem. Who knew they’d plant a garden right in the middle of the city?"
"There’s something about the lighting around this church that keeps me coming back."
"Why spend money on a European vacation when we have places like this?"
"So blue can’t miss it. Very cozy inside."
Eaton Canyon Falls, an easily accessible hike for those who don't mind a crowd on the weekends. A nice way to escape to nature without escaping too far from the city.
Strolling through Old Pasadena is something that can't be missed. A famous stretch of the city, it hosts the Rose Bowl Parade and is becoming a foodie heaven. A good suggestion: modern Mexican fine dining courtesy of Maestro. Stop in for a Mezcal cocktail and some tacos.
