3 is the magic number

I wanted a smooth and comfortable ride for bopping around town and getting groceries, and I got it. For the money, it would be tough to find a better value out there for a new ride. The materials used, welding, sealed bearings and geometry are all very nice. The frame has a good bit of flex also, which makes for a very forgiving ride. My last cruiser was a Dyno, so my standards for comfort and quality were high.

I did change out some components that were lacking in my opinion and am sure these will be improved on stock kits. The grips are more than sufficient but I decided to go with something a little bigger on the handles. The seat is not terrible and looks good, but for an upright sitting position I like something a little more bouncy for my 'adult' butt. The bike would be great with an extra wide cruiser saddle with suspension for an extra plush ride; something that is offered on some other models. While this could be set up as more of a touring bike, it is not, and works best as a town cruiser (if your town or city isn't too hilly). The last component that needed to be updated were the pedals. Good brand and quality, but I prefer something a little grippier so my feet don't slide as much. If I rode in sandals for joyrides these would be okay, but for actually pedaling with a purpose, not great. Also, if you get a front basket (which I'm glad I did), get a wheel stabilizer. It is a cheap and essential addition, in my opinion.
These are just some nit-picky comments, but overall, I love this bike. I even find myself staring at it sometimes. The green color is even better than expected!

Most of all, Ryan and the team at BBC are amazing! It was like talking to friends in person. I felt very good with this purchase from start-to-finish.

My biggest concern is that I may look too good riding it :)

Thanks so much for sharing such a thorough review Raffi. The Driggs looks great with your added touches. Thanks also for acknowledging your experience with our team, it was a pleasure working with you. -Ryan Zagata
Great Bike for my son

I recently bought and assembled a Driggs 3 speed and gifted it to my son. It's a really nice ride, and a great value for the price.

Thanks so much for sharing William. Glad he's enjoying his Driggs 3. -Ryan Zagata
Driggs 3 is an awesome bike

I had my eye on this bike since I got back from Copenhagen last fall. I've been wanting to replace my beach cruiser with a more stylish, European/commuter bike but I didn't want to skimp on quality. This bike has it all - great style and extremely well made. I stopped by the showroom when in NYC for a test ride and everything about these bikes are top notch. I've had it for about a month now and absolutely love riding it because it's so comfortable. The 3 speed internal hub on this bike is of much better quality than my experience with other bikes. I love how it puts you a little more upright on while riding for a much more comfortable ride in my opinion. You won't be disappointed with buying this bike. It's totally worth it.

Thank you for sharing Sam. It was great meeting you in the showroom and we are thrilled you are enjoying your Driggs 3 down in Charlotte. -Ryan Zagata
Excellent Farmers Market Cruiser.

I don't write reviews often but the bike and the company deserve it. I was looking for a new bike that was upright, fairly light, easy to pedal and had vintage styling. I live in the suburbs and have small kids so the bike mainly is used for family time and Saturday morning farmers market runs. The build quality, design and parts are all top notch for a bike in this category and price range. I did my research and it was down to the Lynus and Brooklyn Bicycle. I chose the Driggs. Ryan and Danielle spent a lot of time answering my questions and making sure I was happy. If there was an issue they fixed it. This was the biggest selling point to me and why I'm a repeat customer. Simple, provide a great product and great service.

The bike is great and I enjoy it so much I purchased my wife a Willow 3 (she got jealous of how effortlessly I was pedaling along). Of ccourse I purchased a few accessories to like a helmet, bike lights (I really like the BB set), panniers, chain gaurdframe bike lock, new seat, grips and a bell (ding!). Some of these I purchased directly from BB and if they didn't have it they helped me find it. If you're looking for this type of bike in this price range then you'll find the short list of quality providers. Great bicycle!

Thanks for sharing Jason. We are glad you're loving your Driggs and appreciate you acknowledging the efforts the team put in to ensure you had a great experience. -Ryan Zagata
She's a dream!

I first have to say that Ryan at BB was so patient and helpful, I must have tested every bike in their showroom and I was still undecided. In the end I went with my gut and bought the Driggs. I swapped the seat for the Willow, which has been much more comfortable. The Driggs fulfills my criteria that it must look great and be a laid back ride for commuting. I've only had a few rides (before I shipped her to our new home in Australia) but I'm very happy with how it handled the uneven roads of Brooklyn and even in strong winds, I managed to find a comfortable speed. She also gets so many admiring looks, it pains me to attach a U-lock to her. Overall, a great valued bike that has so much charm and a perfect commuting bike for the scenic-route enthusiasts.
Thank you BB team!

Thanks so much for sharing Candace. We enjoyed working with you and hope your bike serves you well in Australia. -Ryan Zagata

Very smooth ride!

Thanks for sharing Tom. Glad you are enjoying your Driggs 3. -Ryan Zagata

What Are the Differences Between the Franklin and Willow Step-through Models?

Looking at the Franklin and Willow, but not quite sure how the models compare? No worries – we get this question a lot, so we’ve put together a quick rundown on what sets these models apart!

#TLDR (AKA Too Long Didn't Read)? Here's a Quick Summary:

This is probably the most notable difference between our step-through models. With the Willow featuring our Swept-Back Handlebars. This means a much more upright (European-style) riding position (think sitting in a chair) that is well suited for leisurely riding.

The Franklin models feature our Relaxed Ride Handlebars, which are slightly more aggressive and ideal for both commuting and leisurely weekend rides.

The Willow comes with cream tires, whereas the Franklin sports black tires. Do note that regardless of color, all our tires offer an added layer of puncture resistance.

The Willow is our premium model and includes a rear carrier, as well as an upgraded sprung saddle and grip set from Selle Royal’s Royalgel™ line.

The Franklin features Selle Royal Vegan Leather saddle and grips. Please note that this bike does not come with a rear carrier. If you would like to purchase a rear carrier for this model, you will need a 26” carrier for the S/M Franklin and a 700C carrier for the Large Franklin model.

Both models come with color matched fenders and chainguard, as well as a kickstand.

As our signature model, the Willow has a few additional premium features including a rust-prohibitive coating on the chain and internal gearing resulting in less maintenance and more riding.

The Franklin 3 model includes internal gearing (just like the Willow), whereas the Franklin 7 has an external 7-Speed derailleur.

On a more technical note – the geometry on both frames is identical, however the Franklin and Willow models are made from different materials. Are you currently thinking “WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?! I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BIKES!!”? Do not fret – we totally get it! Take a breath and read on…

The Willow frame is made with double-butted 4130 Chromoly Steel. We use a stronger grade of steel, which allows us to use thinner tubing resulting in a lighter frame.

The Franklin frame is crafted with specially engineered high-tensile steel. What does this mean? We are able to offer a similar bike of a more moderate price point. Our Franklin model is the most economical step-through model in our portfolio of bikes (as well as a team favorite)!
