Why You'll Love It
I got this bike from my fiancé as a Christmas present. He knew that I had been wanting this bike because it’s one of the only ones out there sized perfectly for me (5’1). First ride I went 15 miles and it was amazing. I’m also so glad that I got one of the ones with the original crests and that fully spell out Brooklyn instead of just BK.
I ordered the Franklin in hopes to use it as my commuter here in Dallas. I love the frame style and the SeaGlass color is amazing. However, my commute is 14 miles each way with a few moderate hills, and the gearing range on the Franklin 7 was just not robust enough. I was very sad because it's so pretty and the added rear rack made it so much easier than wearing a heavy backpack (especially in the summer). Reluctantly, I had to exchange it and am waiting patiently for my replacement to arrive, which is the Roebling.
Awesome bike, quick and comfortable and looks great.
I would absolutely recommend this bike. After being hit by two cars this summer (that swerved into the bike lane without looking - the second of which totaled my bike), I have to admit that I was hesitant to get back on the road, and I wasn't going to settle for anything unless I loved it. When I test drove the Franklin 3 at my local bicycle shop, I was immediately sold. It's a smooth ride, its gorgeous, and the customer service is the best of any company that I know of. I ended up getting it in sea foam green in L (I'm 5'8") and decking it out with the Brooklyn bicycle front and rear lights as well - which I also highly recommend. I commute 16 miles to and from work every day, and I could not be happier. The grips are comfortable, the seat is comfortable, and I can't tell you how many complements I have gotten. My advice? Get it!
I bought this bike for my girlfriend (for sizing she's 5'4 and I got her a small). I hopped on the phone with Ryan and he gave me bike recommendations based on the area where I live and what I needed (casual riding/getting around town in a hilly area). The bike came within two weeks fully assembled and the bike is great.
I have really enjoyed my Franklin 7. I use it to commute 10 miles a day to work. It is a comfortable, upright ride that takes on some hills (about 200 feet elevation change overall) no problem. I added the front wooded rack and steering makes it a bit squirrelly, but I am getting used to the handling. As a bonus, I get tons of compliments - it is a good looking bike.
