The MOST IMPORTANT measurement when sizing a bike is your inseam length.
Don't base your inseam simply on your jean size.
The more precise, the better.
1. Stand with your back against a wall and spread your feet 6-8" apart.
2. Place a book between your legs and up against the wall, spine up; raise it until snug against your crotch (this mimics your bike seat).
3. Have another person measure from the top of the book (spine) down to the floor.

The Best Townie Bike
"If you want a perfectly lovely around-town bike, get a Brooklyn Willow."
Easy to Buy, Exceptional Service
"By all accounts, buying a Brooklyn online is a pleasant experience."
I have had this bike for about a month and I love it! The details on the handlebar and saddle are so cute, and it feels great for riding around the city. This is my first bike I have owned in Brooklyn, and I am so happy I made the choice to buy it. It is heavy enough to feel sturdy but light enough that it isn't too difficult to carry down to my basement storage. The one downside was that it took almost 4 months to arrive. That being said, the team was very communicative and kind the whole time. It seems like they are working hard to shorten delivery times. Despite the wait, I am still really glad to have it!
Thank you so much for sharing Amy. The demand for bikes brought on by the pandemic has surely caused some hiccups in the supply chain but we appreciate you being patient and I'm thrilled you're enjoying your bike. -Ryan Zagata
I eyed the Willow 3 in late summer and had the opportunity to preorder in December. I finally received it in March. and it’s been so much fun to ride through Central Park, to grocery shop (I bought a basket for the back rack), and to visit friends in parts of the city that are awkward to reach by subway — I took my bike on an MTA ferry this week.
The global bike shortage meant the wait to receive the bike was rough, but it was ultimately worth it. At some point I might want to upgrade to a 7-speed, but for now I love riding my bike.
Thanks so much for sharing Kristin. We appreciate your patience and we're glad you're enjoying your new bike. -Ryan Zagata
I hadn’t rode a bicycle in years. Researched bikes and chose Brooklyn Bicycles. I waited 4 months for the bike and it was worth the wait.
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback and this tremendous photo Suzanne. We are happy to hear you're enjoying your bike. -Ryan Zagata
This is best bike I’ve ever owned. The components are high quality, the bike is lightweight, and the ride is comfortable and upright. I love the matching fenders. Three speeds has been perfect for riding on hills in town. This bike is a pleasure to ride!
Thanks so much for sharing Heather. We're thrilled you're enjoying your Willow. -Ryan Zagata
I bought my "Blue Willow" two weeks into the pandemic and I could not be happier. The personalized service was phenomenal. The bike was delivered assembled. It rides beautifully and I have gotten so many compliments!!!
Thanks so much for sharing Tiffany. We're thrilled you're getting so much use out of your bike. -Ryan Zagata
What can I say? Everything in the process of buying a bike online from Brooklyn Bicycle Co. during a pandemic has been amazing and seamless. Their friendly staff answered all my questions over the phone. The bike was personally delivered to my doorstep by Ryan himself, who is such a down to earth, cool guy. He helped make sure the seat was the right height and gave me a few pointers. I’ve had the bike for about a month now and have ridden every day it hasn’t been raining. The gears shift easily and smoothly and I don’t have to worry about too much maintenance because of the internal gearing system. The bike itself is beautiful and feels comfortable even on longer rides along the Westside highway and up that beast of the Harlem Hill in Central Park! I’m lucky that I was able to snag this gem before the shortage hit. My plan is to ride all summer long and then use it to commute to work once that reopens as well. I highly recommend this bike and company. All around a total pleasure!
Thanks for sharing Marisa. We'll keep our eyes peeled for you when we're uptown. -Ryan Zagata
