It's that simple!
This bike was perfect for my daughter going to college! Came in just as advertised!
My wife bought the Willow 3 after extensive research into comparable brands. We looked at Linus, Public, Breezer, and a number of others. While they all look similar, they aren't. The chromoly steel frame is resilient and absorbs road shock beautifully. The geometry is terrific (my wife is 5' and it was hard to find another brand that she felt good on). The ride is quiet and very very smooth. And the bike looks terrific - practical for commuting, errands, and just for Saturday night restaurant excursion. She rode a Raleigh Classic Roadster for almost 10 years and this is a dramatic trade up in quality at a very reasonable price. Also - visit the Greenpoint showroom and talk to Ryan. He's passionate and helpful, and went a long way to make sure that we focussed on the bikes that were right for us, without ever making us feel pressured.
My wife and I recently moved to a little beach bungalow. We wanted to get a couple of "urban" style bikes to cruise the boardwalk and ride to local coffee shops and restaurants. We discovered Brooklyn Bicycle Co online, and immediately fell in love with the unique style and cool retro look of their frames. We already had five bikes hanging in the garage, but my Driggs 3 and my wife's Willow 3 are now our favorite bikes to ride! Ryan was super helpful on the phone, gave me sizing advice, and even took extra time to swap bicycle biz stories. Every step of the order process was spot-on and professional, from the email notifications, to the free shipping and assembly by a friendly local shop, to the "old school" personal hand-written thank you card we received. Classy!
My Willow 7 has been fantastic. You can tell by riding it that it is very well made, super smooth, etc. But what made me really want to buy a Brooklyn Bicycle is speaking with the people within this company. The president of the company himself (didn't realize this at the time) spoke with me for a solid 45min-1hr about the different bikes they offered, their differences, and what would work best for me personally. He also taught me some things I had not known about bikes in general. He was so kind and patient as he even listened to me rant about how my previous bike was stolen recently! (haha, still bitter about it). I also received a hand-written card wishing me well when I'd received my Willow 7 and personalized emails notifying me of the bike shipment from other employees in Brooklyn Bicycle Co., etc. That kind of customer service I don't see too often so I knew that this would be a really great bike w/ great quality behind it and that it would last a while. I also knew that if anything had happened to the bike that I could depend on Brooklyn Bicycle Co. with their advice and guidance. If you want to buy a bike from a company backed by really great people, I highly recommend Brooklyn Bicycle Co.
My wife bought me a Driggs three summers ago after coming back from a trip to The Hague. Needless to say, I love it. The problem is she also loved it so much that she ended up riding mine all the time, preferring it over a purportedly much fancier (i.e., expensive) woman's hybrid that used to be her errand/commuter bike! So I bought her a Willow earlier this summer and, problem solved-- now we both have bikes we are thrilled with. We live in central Denver so steep hills are not a problem, and the three-speed is perfect to get anywhere in town. She chose the sea glass color which gets compliments anywhere and everywhere we stop. She reports that the step over frame makes it ideal for cruising to dinner in a skirt or summer dress and for mounting the bike when she has either saddle bags on the back or the baby seat on the front. Regarding the latter, we have a Thule Ridealong Mini that is easily moved from one bike to the other-- our son has ridden on the front of these Brooklyn bikes since he was eight months old. Both the Willow and the Driggs are balanced, stable, and yet still quick with the baby seat installed. Indeed, the ride is comfortable enough that our son has fallen asleep on the bike!
