What an impressive company! The experience I had in purchasing the Brooklyn 7 Cruiser online exceeds any other customer service I have ever received, online or at a retail establishment. I do a lot of online shopping, so when I googled "best beach cruiser" and an article appeared featuring this bicycle, I was comfortable selecting a beautiful bicycle from the Brooklyn Bicycle Co. website. But I wondered how they would get the new bike to me in NC from NY, have it assembled, and ready for pickup before Christmas so we could surprise our daughter. The entire process could not have gone better -- it started with excellent communication from the moment I made the purchase, and continued as the bike was shipped to a local vendor and assembled. I was aware at all times of where the bicycle was in the process, thanks to frequent email updates from Brooklyn Bicycle. My daughter absolutely loves her new cruiser, and who wouldn't -- it's beautiful! Thank you Brooklyn Bicycle for an experience that exceeded my expectations in every way.
I've been riding my bike about 10 miles a day for the past month. It is an absolute dream. I used to have a fixie and after riding for 4 miles or so, my arms would start to go numb and I would have a lot of back pain. I went to the showroom and test rode the Willow and two sizes of the Franklin. To my surprise, I needed the larger frame (which was bigger than I imagined), but I'm so glad I did that, because now I can ride pain free. Rachel at the showroom was so friendly and generous with her time. I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. When I ordered my bike a few weeks later, Danielle and Rachel were kind enough to let me pick it up from the showroom on the same day rather than wait a week. This bike has been absolutely life changing and I get compliments all the time because I love wearing outfits to match my red Franklin 3. Thank you for making such a wonderful bike! It's truly been life changing
My wife and I recently moved to a little beach bungalow. We wanted to get a couple of "urban" style bikes to cruise the boardwalk and ride to local coffee shops and restaurants. We discovered Brooklyn Bicycle Co online, and immediately fell in love with the unique style and cool retro look of their frames. We already had five bikes hanging in the garage, but my Driggs 3 and my wife's Willow 3 are now our favorite bikes to ride! Ryan was super helpful on the phone, gave me sizing advice, and even took extra time to swap bicycle biz stories. Every step of the order process was spot-on and professional, from the email notifications, to the free shipping and assembly by a friendly local shop, to the "old school" personal hand-written thank you card we received. Classy!
I bought this bike after my old one bit the dust. I originally wanted the ivory and submitted an order for it before they reached out to tell me that this color was actually sold out in the size I wanted. I ended up going with the coral. I am SO glad I did. The color is gorgeous and super unique. If I forget where I parked my bike I can see it blocks away because no one else has a bike this color. Rides super smooth. I had an issue with one of the pedals just a few weeks after getting it. Customer service reached out to the bike shop that built my bike for me and they fixed it for free. Great customer service. I am very happy with my buy.
It's such a great bike to get you from anywhere! From Downtown to the Rockaways! Its super fast and sleek, and I get compliments everywhere I go. It switches between gears with ease, and it was such a great investment! I love this bike! People have stopped me asking abut the bike, and I always recommend they head into the showroom and talk to Ryan! Best bike and experience I have had for a long time!
I was looking for a lightweight Dutch-style step through bike for casual neighborhood/beach riding at a reasonable price and couldn't seem to find The One, UNTIL I stumbled upon one of these beauties in my old neighborhood in Brooklyn. The Franklin 3-speed is a dream. I love the sleek, thoughtful design, the soft cushiony leather, and the simple logo. It's a high quality bike and looks more expensive than it is. I got it in sea glass and it's so rich and beautiful in person. She gets compliments everywhere I go! Most importantly, it's the smoothest, easiest, most comfortable ride. Even longer, more arduous rides have been a breeze. I'm 5'5 and the S/M is the perfect size for me, and it's light enough that I can easily carry it up and down stairs. Pleasure to ride, super pretty, and unmatched quality and design at this price point. Couldn't ask for more.
I also can't say enough good things about the customer service and Buy & Ride experience. When my first color of choice was out of stock, they were very kind and talked me through my options. The bike arrived at a local bike shop less than 2 weeks later, they assembled and adjusted it for me, I got an email when it was ready and rode it home that day. So easy. The guys at that shop are awesome and, as someone who is *not* a bike expert, it's nice to know where I can go if I need anything. I really appreciate Brooklyn Bicycle Co's values around supporting local businesses. Great company, great product.
Seriously I can’t say enough about this bike. It’s so comfortable and stylish, I use it almost every day all around brooklyn. I got the Oi Bell and the water bottle cage from the website and it fits and looks awesome. Will be purchasing another one for my wife soon. Keep up the good work Brooklyn Bicycle :).
I absolutely love my bike! Everyone at Brooklyn was so kind and friendly that I would recommend buying a bicycle from them over any other company. My Franklin 3 rides like a dream! I have been so excited about getting back into cycling and I did a lot of research online before deciding to go with Brooklyn. Needless to say, I am so glad that I did! My bike fits all of my commuter needs and is super cute! You truly get more than what you pay for when you go with Brooklyn. I also really appreciated the payment plan option as I am a Full-time student! If you are on the fence, definitely go with Brooklyn.
I absolutely love this crate! It’s so old school and fun. Very well made. Classic. Having walked the Brooklyn Bridge with my son and daughter on a special vacation, the emblem is a perfect commemoration of our time together in NYC. I use it as decor in my home when it’s not on my bike...My son passed away suddenly from an unknown heart condition shortly after our trip. Healthy and 25. The bicycle and crate, with their Brooklyn Bridge emblems ... have filled my heart with joy and captured memories. ❤️ They remind me to enjoy every moment...like he did.
My wife bought me a Driggs three summers ago after coming back from a trip to The Hague. Needless to say, I love it. The problem is she also loved it so much that she ended up riding mine all the time, preferring it over a purportedly much fancier (i.e., expensive) woman's hybrid that used to be her errand/commuter bike! So I bought her a Willow earlier this summer and, problem solved-- now we both have bikes we are thrilled with. We live in central Denver so steep hills are not a problem, and the three-speed is perfect to get anywhere in town. She chose the sea glass color which gets compliments anywhere and everywhere we stop. She reports that the step over frame makes it ideal for cruising to dinner in a skirt or summer dress and for mounting the bike when she has either saddle bags on the back or the baby seat on the front. Regarding the latter, we have a Thule Ridealong Mini that is easily moved from one bike to the other-- our son has ridden on the front of these Brooklyn bikes since he was eight months old. Both the Willow and the Driggs are balanced, stable, and yet still quick with the baby seat installed. Indeed, the ride is comfortable enough that our son has fallen asleep on the bike!
I was looking for a new bike because my former bike was from a thrift shop and weighted a ton. I was browsing between three different bike companies and decided to go with Brooklyn Bicycle Co—I’m glad I did. I’m a novice when it comes to bikes and called customer service to ask questions. The second time I called I spoke to Ryan the owner. He was cool and went through the specs of the different bikes. Later on I decided to go ahead and order the bike in this hot red color. Simple. It was processed and sent to a local bike shop in my neighborhood and I’ve been riding ever since. I love it because I live in a walk up and I can carry the bike up with one hand. Everybody loves my bike and compliments me on a daily basis. It’s a seven speed but it goes pretty fast and in my excitement I almost flew over one of the hills in a local park but thank goodness I had a helmet. All in all I definitely would recommend this bike. I wanted to get the Bedford but I’m pretty petite but now I’m glad I bought a step through because it’s so much easier to get on and off. After I get more experience I’ll ride farther out but so far so good.
Awesome ride for the money. Great customer service. Everything went perfect. Was riding in less than a week
SUCH A SEAMLESS PROCESS.
I love my Brooklyn Bicycle just as much as I love the company and how responsive and wonderful they are. When i was unable to purchase the Franklin because it was out of stock in my color/size preference I opted for the Lorimer. I was helped by countless people to make sure it was the right fit for me. They had it put together at my local store and I just picked it up and rode off on my new bike!
I love how lightweight and compact this bike is. I was originally looking for the upright posture of the Franklin, but I have gotten used to the sportier position that is offered by the Lorimer. It has so many speeds and seemlessly switches between speeds when I’m riding.
I was really set on having the walnut handles and saddle so I ordered those seperately and they were put on when my bike was being built.
I do wish they kept the logo on the bike like you see in the pics! The bike says “BK LORIMER” instead of “BROOKLYN”on it. Silly, but I’d really rather it have the logo on it, so that was disappointing to realize when I got it.
I am thrilled with my purchase and already convincing my friends to buy from BBC.
I really love this bike so much. I bought it on recommendation from a friend who discovered a Brooklyn bicycles a few months ago. The bike is so light which was a huge factor for me, having previously tried to lug an old upright around. It’s slick and smooth, a really great ride for nipping around the city.
Customer service was great, though the bike shop forgot to contact me to let me know the bike was there, I eventually chased them and it turned out it had been there for a week - a little annoying but they were very apologetic, so I would recommend reaching out to bike shop if you haven’t heard from them when expected.
Also the color seems a little different from that on the website - I thought it was Matt but it’s more metallic.
Those things aside, still 5 stars, such a good bike and will be evangelizing to anyone who asks.
I originally had a single speed bike and quickly discovered that it wasn’t conducive for biking all over the city and not working up a sweat. The three speed is simple and exactly what I wanted. I get compliments everywhere I go! It’s a beautiful bike and perfect for commuting around.
I’d lived with a vintage bike for years, and finally parted ways, and I now ride my Lorimer more than I ever rode that bike. It’s light enough for a city gal to haul up and down stairs, but so solidly engineered. The minimal style is kind of like that perfect white tee: the fit, design, and feel are irresistible and addictive, and it’s so versatile! Trails? Check. Boardwalk? Check. Sidewalks and neighborhood streets—even during heavy construction? Check and check. This bike gets it done, and in style.
I am not a seasoned bike rider but I was losing my mind commuting on the crowded bus and decided to give biking a go. I started with using ride share bikes but I really wanted something of my own. I saw an ad from Brooklyn Bicycle and read through all their (glowing) reviews and when I saw that they ship to small businesses nearby I was sold - great ethics! So now I ride this bike to and from work (nearly) every day and I love it. It is super fast and light enough to take up and down the stairs with little issue. It's amazing how heavy those ride share bikes feel now. One thing - my coworker commented on how nobody needs a 24 speed bike and I will admit that I agreed with him at the time, but since I have started riding it, I have used pretty much every gear and I am so happy that I went through with the purchase. It also doesn't hurt that it matches my Thousand helmet pretty well ;) Great job Brooklyn Bicycle Co!
If I could give more stars I would!! I absolutely love my Driggs 3! Rides so smooth & looks great doing it. All around amazing bike, made very well but what was even more amazing was the customer service! From helping me find the right bike for me to offering to give me a phone call to chat about picking out the bike and the experience they create. From start to finish the whole process was amazing and the Brooklyn Bike team was so helpful! I will be a returning & supporting customer without a doubt! Thank you Ryan & the whole Brooklyn Bike team! Keep doing everything your doing!

I’ve had my Driggs 3 for a week. It’s great for a short commute, trips to the local shops, and it’s just plain fun.
I ordered the Franklin model about a month ago, and have really enjoyed it so far. I ordered the size L (I'm 5'7) in white, and it fits great! At first I was use to riding a more sporty bike so I was a bit worried I wouldn't be able to go as quickly as I'd like, but it's actually very fast! It's really comfortable, both the seat, handlebars, and the set up itself (more upright than my old bike) all make for a speedy but stress free ride. I also get tons of compliments, and have sent many costumers to this site!
The Bay area is becoming more and more Urban living (well they are trying really hard.) This bike was a perfect addition to my collection! My Willow 3 is so smooth and so comfortable to ride around town and of course just cruising around on the weekends, I look forward to riding. I would like to see Brooklyn Bikes become more popular here in the Bay Area! :) So Cool! Anyways All I need now is to get a basket for the front! Get out and ride! A picture to follow...
Not so long ago I got my bike. Magnificent bicycle, excellent materials. Very high quality product. Thanks to the team of Brooklyn Bicycle Co.
I absolutely love my bike! The process was so easy and efficient to buy the bike online and pick it up at a a local bike shop. When I picked my bike up, the guy working at the bike shop raved about how great of a company Brooklyn Bicycle Co. is, and I agree! :) The Franklin is super comfortable, sturdy, and lightweight enough to carry/lift when needed. I have thoroughly enjoyed riding my bike around now that it is finally spring in Michigan!
I'm really happy with my Bedford so far. I use it to commute 3-5 days a week and lots of joyrides on the weekend. I swapped out the handlebars for the VO Tourist and with that it's got a super comfortable geometry that's still efficient enough to log some miles. Bike it light & well built- I liked the order-LBS assembly model as well. And Ryan was super responsive to a string of like 100 questions I threw at him, which made me far more comfortable with buying a bike I'd never seen in person. Great bike, Brooklyn Bicycle Co!
Love this awesome urban city commuter bike. Great quality and a blast to ride. I feel like a kid again!
I’m going to be the proud owner of the driggs bike in the next few days! Can’t decided between the 3 or the 7? I bought another bike a few days ago. After I had purchased my new bike I wandered into another local bike shop in Edmonton. I had never heard of Brooklyn bikes but it was “ love at first site” as soon as I saw it I knew I need one. The next day I returned my new bike and am looking forward to being a proud new owner of one these beautiful bikes! The artist bike maker has returned and it’s a welcome sight.
Beautiful construction and a smooth ride, I couldn’t be more excited about my new Willow 7. From order to communication to the build and pick-up, my expectations were exceeded. The black shiny paint make require a nightly wipe down, but well worth the gleam!
The Wythe is slick, cleanly and sturdily designed, expertly assembled (shout out Oh, Wheelie bike shop), and good-looking as hell. It's the best city bike I've ever had and I'm not even done personalizing it. Also want to thank you guys for the totally painless customer service and the handwritten follow-up message. That was a really nice touch and I felt very well taken care of. Y'all are champs!
This bike is a great deal! It arrived in perfectly new condition and the best part is: Brooklyn Bicycle Co. arranged the assembly of my bike and my wife's bike, D. Bodden. Nice touch from the company. Customer service is exceptional! Boldly I say that is the best customer service experience I ever had. And ready-to-ride! Most of the accessories are Shimano --- good quality parts --- and the set works great for the price, simple non-technical trail riding, which is all I do. The black matte color looks fantastic. I really love my bicycle. During the weekends I am enjoying it with my wife here in Miami, Florida. Priceless! I recommend this bicycle to anyone.
There are so many great things I could say about my army green Bedford 3! It's sleek, lightweight (solidly 5 lbs lighter than my previous bike from a competitor!), and reliable. The Bedford rides and brakes very smoothly - both very important when you start and stop a lot during the morning commute. I was skeptical of the 3-speed being enough to tackle the steep hills we have in northwest DC, but it has been great so far. An excellent purchase all around!
The icing on the cake - your local bike shop benefits from the business, even if they don't carry this model in-store! Always happy to support those guys.
I had been looking for a stylish, but also fast, bike that gave me the flexibility of having more gears to adapt to hilly terrain. And I found it! I also love that it is made of light chromoly steel, which gives me a more comfortable ride. Ryan and his team are very helpful and attentive. Best customer service experience ever!
|COLOR-MATCHED FENDERS & CHAINGUARD||SADDLE|
|3-SPEED INTERNAL GEARING||GRIPS|
|KICKSTAND INCLUDED||TIRE COLOR|
This is probably the most notable difference between our step-through models. With the Willow featuring our Swept-Back Handlebars. This means a much more upright (European-style) riding position (think sitting in a chair) that is well suited for leisurely riding.
The Franklin models feature our Relaxed Ride Handlebars, which are slightly more aggressive and ideal for both commuting and leisurely weekend rides.
The Willow comes with cream tires, whereas the Franklin sports black tires. Do note that regardless of color, all our tires offer an added layer of puncture resistance.
The Willow is our premium model and includes a rear carrier, as well as an upgraded sprung saddle and grip set from Selle Royal’s Royalgel™ line.
The Franklin features Selle Royal Vegan Leather saddle and grips. Please note that this bike does not come with a rear carrier. If you would like to purchase a rear carrier for this model, you will need a 26” carrier for the S/M Franklin and a 700C carrier for the Large Franklin model.
Both models come with color matched fenders and chainguard, as well as a kickstand.
4. RUST-PROHIBITIVE COATING & GEARING
As our signature model, the Willow has a few additional premium features including a rust-prohibitive coating on the chain and internal gearing resulting in less maintenance and more riding.
5. FRAME MATERIALS
On a more technical note – the geometry on both frames is identical, however the Franklin and Willow models are made from different materials. Are you currently thinking “WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?! I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BIKES!!”? Do not fret – we totally get it! Take a breath and read on…
The Willow frame is made with double-butted 4130 Chromoly Steel. We use a stronger grade of steel, which allows us to use thinner tubing resulting in a lighter frame.
The Franklin frame is crafted with specially engineered high-tensile steel. What does this mean? We are able to offer a similar bike of a more moderate price point. Our Franklin model is the most economical step-through model in our portfolio of bikes (as well as a team favorite)!
Don’t forget: All of our bikes include Free Shipping & Professional Assembly.
