The Roebling: the do-it-all hybrid

Named Best City Hybrid by Bicycling Magazine, the Roebling is our butted chromoly steel hybrid commuter. "Hybrid" is one of the most overused terms in the bike industry; here's what it actually means for the Roebling: one of our two most versatile, most utilitarian bikes, built for commuting, fitness, and everything between.

Quick facts:

  • Double-butted chromoly steel frame: chromoly is a premium, lighter grade of steel that keeps steel's durability and shock absorption while shedding weight. Double-butted tubing is thicker at the stress points and tapers in the center, making the bike even lighter (approximately 30 pounds)
  • Wide-range 1x9 drivetrain that handles bridge climbs and flat greenways alike
  • All the braze-ons you'd need to add fenders, a rear rack, kickstand, front basket, or bottle cage
  • Fits riders from 5'0" to 6'4"

Compared to its sibling the Lorimer, the Roebling has a longer cockpit, a sportier contoured saddle, and less swept-back handlebars. If you're 5'6" or shorter, check out the Lorimer too.
