Bedford 3 - Coo

I had been cycling through different bike brands all winter long. Really spinning my wheels about it. Finally, I came across Brooklyn Bicycle Company after a long and tiresome process. I pumped the brakes on buying from another brand and decided to get the Bedford 3. During my first ride, the bike spoke volumes. And not to switch gears, but the staff was incredibly helpful and the buying process smooth - never an uphill battle. Above all else the bike was reasonably priced, even after I adjusted for inflation.

You won’t regret this bike, it’s honestly amazing. I’m actually trying to get my friend to buy one right now, but he prefers unicycles. Yeah, he struggles socially and can’t handle-bars! It’s a vicious cycle.

This is literally the best bike I’ve ever owned.

Shout out to the folks at Silk Road Cycles, you folks are wheelie nice.

Thanks so much for sharing Joseph and for the seemingly futile attempt to get your mate on one of our steeds. We also appreciate you acknowledging the efforts the team puts forth to make sure things go smoothly. -Ryan Zagata

Very Comfortable Bicycle

I finally passed down my 23 year old Trek 820 to my son and got me this bicycle. I've only ridden the bike for a few minutes. My first impression is that the bike is very comfortable. I've just ordered a trailer hitch from Uhaul so I can't wait to take this bike to some nice bike trail.

Thanks for sharing John. We're thrilled you're enjoying your bike. -Ryan Zagata

Bedford 7 speed.

me: New Yorker, commutes about 75 miles a week, rides for pleasure about 75 more between late March and early October. I own a single speed frankenbike, and philosophically believe the less parts on a bike (or really anything), the better.

I wanted something affordable with speeds to take some of the strain off on hills such as our East River crossings, and I didn’t want to spend a bazillion dollars for a quality bike.

The bike: [Full disclosure, I’ve only put about 150 miles on this thing so far] The Bedford 7 Speed is exactly what’s advertised. It’s a beautiful affordable comfortable durable commuter ride made with quality components. I particularly like the twist shifter and the 1x drivetrain.

[note for the Brooklyn Bicycle Co. suggestion box. If you guys made a 10 or 12 speed with a 1x drivetrain, twist shifter, and similar geometry in this price range I’d buy it in a heartbeat!]

Thanks for sharing Ira. Looks like you're logging some substantial miles. -Ryan Zagata

Very happy!

I ordered my bike the day I was alerted that it had become available again, and I’m so glad I did. The wait was a tad longer than expected, but it was well worth it. It’s exactly what I wanted, and a thrill to ride.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share Bethany. We apologize for the delay in fulfilling your order but we're glad you're enjoying your bike. -Ryan Zagata

Teenager... Again!

Thank you, guys. I just moved from dense Los Angeles to serene Santa Barbara and it was the ideal time to reacquaint myself with bike riding. The beautiful scenery that’s Santa Barbara combined with the joy of discovery on my Bedford build has me feeling like a teenager again. I’ve been riding every single day since delivery. Kimberly and Danielle were terrific throughout the process. 👍

Thanks so much for sharing Dan. Santa Barbara is a great home for the Bedford. Enjoy! -Ryan Zagata

When a company delivers what they promised, and in perfect condition, they must be thanked and applauded.
I couldn’t be happier with my two bicycles and accessories.
Thank you.

Loving it

As someone who hasn't ridden in over 40 years, this bike made for an easy adjustment back into flow of riding. I was nervous at first but thought it best to pull the trigger and let that be my motivation to get back on the horse. The ride is smooth and the seat is comfortable. I'm still learning to turn corners but with practice I'm sure I'll feel more confident. No regrets.

Thanks for sharing Lauren. We're glad you're back out riding. -Ryan Zagata

💕love love our new bikes!!

We waited a year for our new bikes and they were so worth the wait! I have a Willow and my husband has the Driggs 7. The 7 speed is perfect for Florida riding. Danielle was so patient with us throughout the process and kept us updated as we waited for our bikes to be back in stock due to COVID. We love them and would highly recommend them! Love the company and all the accessories we purchased! Thank you ☺️ so much Danielle!!!

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback Cindy. We're thrilled you're enjoying your bikes. -Ryan Zagata

beautiful and functional with a few tweaks!

I love this rack! It looks really sleek on the bike and I get a lot of compliments on it! It's also really sturdy and functional -- however, it does cause the wheel to bend to the side due to the added weight so I also added a spring to the front wheel to keep it from falling over when the basket is installed. With the spring, the bike can stand up on its own with the kickstand. It's been great -- also definitely recommend a bungee cord with it! Have yet to see a higher quality or more aesthetically pleasing rack.

Thanks so much for sharing Kate. As you suggested, we strongly recommend a wheel stabilizer with this as the added weight of front carrier will cause the wheel to turn. You used the term 'bend' but I suspect you meant the wheel will turn when the bike is stationary. Thanks again. -Ryan Zagata
