Roebling

One of our most versatile commuter bikes, the Roebling features a wide gearing range and puncture-resistant tires for all-day and all-terrain riding, but don’t let this sleek hybrid bike fool you: It’s just as ideal for commuting and running errands as it is for working up a sweat on city streets or bike paths. The ultra-lightweight, double-butted chromoly steel frame delivers a light and smooth ride everywhere life takes you. While similar in design to its sibling the Lorimer, the Roebling sets itself apart with a longer cockpit and sportier, more contoured saddle.

Pretty much perfect

This is a beautiful bike, well equipped, at a great price. I've become a total believer in steel for ordinary (non-racing) riders and rides. We bought this for my wife to replace a heavy aluminum-frame mountain bike — it's so much better for the actual riding she does most days (pavement), while still rugged enough for the small-gravel trail riding we do in the summers. Communication and shipping were great. Local bike shop that assembled the bike did not . . . um . . . excel at that task (front derailleur vertical alignment was off, tires were substantially underinflated, and the owner didn't seem to happy at having "lost a customer" to an online outfit — never mind that he doesn't stock anything in steel at this price). But these were minor issues — we now have a fantastic bike that makes me happy every time I look at it (and that I will be borrowing regularly!).

We are glad you're enjoying the bike Andy. One of the challenges we are always working to overcome is that our last mile of delivery is via an unaffiliated partner and while for the most part that only serves to enhance the experience, on occasion some partners falter and we remove them from our program. That will be the case in this instance. Thanks again for taking the time to review. - Ryan Zagata

Perfect Bike for Me

I can’t say enough good things about my new Roebling. I’ve owned a lot of bikes, road bikes, mountain bikes..including some in the lower four figures and this is my favorite ride. I look forward to riding every day and it’s so comfortable to ride I do to get off. Looks even better than the pics. Buying online was super easy and Ryan was a pleasure to deal with.

Thanks a bunch Chris. So glad you're enjoying your Roebling commuter bike in Florida. -Ryan Zagata

Pretty Good Bike

The was built well and seems to have quality components (for the price). I wish it had a kickstand. For the frame size that I got, I had a difficult time finding a place to attached the U lock.

In terms of weight, it's relatively light but I wish it were a touch lighter as I have to carry it up and down stairs every time I use it.

Thanks so much for sharing Pete. Regarding the U-Lock, you have a very small frame which effectively limits the amount of open space for a lock. Our design efforts have always focused on comfort and durability first and where we are able, we make accommodations for accessories. -Ryan Zagata

Love My New Whip....

I decided to go with the matte black Roebling after chatting with the super helpful guys in customer service as to what size I would need (I’m 5’6” and went with the Small which fits perfect.) It’s super functional and versatile, much more oomph than a typical commuter but still nice and light. And you can’t go wrong with the price. I also don’t mind the compliments on how sleek this new girl looks.....

Thanks so much Josie. The Roebling is an office favorite - hugely popular for it's utilitarianism. Appreciate you sharing and acknowledging the lightweight frame. -Ryan Zagata

Really a nice bike

Really like the weight and construction of this bike. Its a good fit for me as well. It is a great addition to my bike quiver. Would have one request, the SRAM components could be one of the higher quality sets. The shop advised me that I couldn't use the gears on extreme gear settings as there was too much play and the chain could jump the gear and derail. They said it was a slight design flaw but that they didn't advise that I ride on the extreme gear settings anyways. I haven't had any issues yet and I do like the light weight & fit.

Thanks Peter - we are thrilled you are loving the Roebling. We've learned through the years that a bike shop without an opinion is like a unicorn - it doesn't exist. While we're glad you shared their feedback, it seems odd they would mention SRAM since we don't spec SRAM parts on this bike. We feel quite confident in the durability and versatility of the Shimano Acera drivetrain at this pricepoint. Thanks again! -Ryan Zagata
