For all-day, all-incline riding
For a light yet absorbent ride
For all-terrain, no worry riding
I'm not a seasoned bike rider. I had a one speed for years in NYC to get from here to there. I moved to Minneapolis and wanted to take advantage of the extensive bike trails the area has to offer. I don't know anything about brands - I honestly only cared about how cute the bike was and if it had a good rating. I read about this company online after a google search, and the Lorimer was specifically mentioned as a high quality hybrid bike for women, and it came in mint green, my favorite color. After living for 10 years in NYC, 5 of them in Williamsburg, how could I not take a chance on a highly rated hybrid bike in mint green that was called Lorimer? I've gone about 100 miles on it in the past few weeks on a combination of crushed limestone and pavement. The bike rides really well. It's comfortable, and I just love the color. For people that care about the color, it's a little lighter than in the photo online. It's really the perfect shade. And for those missing Brooklyn, it says Brooklyn on the bike (duh, because it's the brand, but still) - what could be better! In all seriousness, I love this bike and was very happy with the customer experience from the first email I sent with questions to the day I picked up the bike from a shop about 8 miles from my new home. Thank you and if I ever need another bike, I will be buying it from you!
My daughter loves her new Lorimer bike. She is the fourth member of the family to get a Brooklyn Bike and she has been as pleased with it as the rest of the family. The customer service provided by Brooklyn Bine is the best I have experienced by a company in years if not the best ever. We will continue to enthusiastically recommend Brooklyn bikes to our friends and family not only for the beautifully designed and engineered bikes but equally for the first class customer service.
My wife loves her bike. It is superior!
This bike is fantastic! We have many hills in our area and it's light and easy to ride. A huge upgrade from the heavy mountain bike I was riding. It handles well and looks great, too. I found myself smiling ear to ear the very first ride. I I should have bought this sooner--I had no idea what a difference the right bike can make. I highly recommend it!
Hello all, I recently purchased the Lorimer. I was riding a beach cruiser before this purchase and wanted to get something lighter and smaller for bike rides around the streets of Jersey City. While I definitely had to adjust to this new set-up, I quickly learned that I had really purchased a bike that would get me around town and through city streets much quicker and stealthier than my old grocery-getter. This bike is fast! SO FAST that I'm now afraid of falling, but I love riding this bike! I feel like a true cycler now (even though i'm most likely far from it). I take this bike out when I want to get some exercise because once I get going I cant stop and next thing I know I've just rode my bike from Liberty State Park all the way up to Edgewater! I struggled between choosing a fixed or geared bike. I ultimately chose to go with gears pretty much b/c the only model bike that seemed anatomically geared to a woman that was not a more cruiser looking style (from BKBC) was the Lorimer. However, I am happy I ended up with gears b/c I can change them up to give myself a harder or easier ride. I also purchased the honey colored saddle and grips and I hear a lot of people compliment what a nice looking bike I have. I added an ABUS U-Lock to the frame of my bike and it's still tons lighter than my beach cruiser was. Someone else wrote on here that they "crave" riding the bike now. I definitely can see where that comes from - I refer to this bike as my sports car and compare my cruiser to a station wagon. While cruising is great, I'll tell ya the speed I can get on this baby is addicting!! Also, customer service was very good. I spoke to a representative who discussed differences between the Lorimer and the Wythe to help in my decision making process. The bike was also shipped and built up very quickly. It was actually ready a few days before I picked it up but we had to wait on the honey saddle and grips to arrive at the bike shop. (I wanted to have the shop put them on.)
